A SLIV case resting on a Petoskey stone at the edge of Lake Michigan

Our story

A sliver of flavor, carried in a stone.

A Michigan flavor strip, marked everywhere by the Petoskey stone.

The name

Sliver, shortened.

SLIV comes from sliver: the thinnest piece of something good. Each strip is a tenth of a millimeter thick and melts in the moment it touches your tongue. That's the whole idea, and the tagline: melts into the moment.

The stone

Michigan's state stone.

The Petoskey stone is fossil coral, about 350 million years old, picked up along the Lake Michigan shore and kept in a pocket. Polished, it shows six-sided cells with radiating lines and soft, weathered centers.

We draw it in line, cell by cell, and it runs across every SLIV card, case and page.

The case

A stone you want to hold.

The SLIV case is shaped like a worry stone, low and smooth with no flat sides, and it fits a jeans coin pocket. Its six-sided dome texture shares the stone's geometry, which is why the Petoskey pattern is the brand's signature.

The place

On the big lake.

SLIV is distributed by Great Lakes Nutraceuticals in Benton Harbor, Michigan, on the shore of Lake Michigan.
